Counselling Support
Being diagnosed with Parkinson’s, (or Parkinson's Plus syndromes) or experiencing a deterioration in symptoms can be a distressing time. Speaking to someone who understands these complex illnesses to provide support and advice, can greatly improve quality of life and overall coping.
Amanda uses a client focused, strengths approach to counselling. She can also provide:

Strategies to deal with anxiety and depression including mindfulness and relaxation

Group sessions for young onset newly diagnosed individuals are also available, depending on demand.

Education

Amanda has extensive experience delivering education sessions on Parkinson’s and Support to all areas of the community. She has presented at University, conferences, support groups, care facilities and to the community on all aspects of managing Parkinson’s disease. She is also a qualified trainer.

Social Work Supervision
Via her private rooms, Amanda also provides clinical Social Work supervision to Social Workers in the field. She has extensive experience delivering critically reflective, caring, social work supervision to workers in the field and is also employed by RMIT university in this capacity.
